 · On my own computer today, I confirmed that both usb sticks that were dedicated to Readyboost in Windows 7 x64 Ultimate were causing "Event ID Disk: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1". When not dedicated to Readyboost, the 2 USB stick were confirmed to be in perfect working order.  · If the vendor has not certified the hardware for the operating system, it is left up to the end user to figure out the issue from whatever errors are being reported. Though uncertified hardware may not be the cause of this particular issue, we can't rule it out.  · If a USB device is generating the Code 10 error, uninstall every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers hardware category in Device Manager as part of the driver reinstall. This includes any USB Mass Storage Device, USB Host Controller, and USB Root Hub.
